The first church was built in this place in 1430. However, this church was not mentioned in the Inquisitor Dusina’s report during his apostolic visit of 1575! Although it is on the confines of Siggiewi and Zebbug, the church falls under the administration of tha Cathedral of Mdina.
The church currently standing was built in 1691 through the initiatives of the Reverend Canon Antonio Manso, a member of the Mdina Cathedral chapter. A plaque inside the chapel mentions the reconstruction which took place during the reign of Bishop Davide Cocco Palmieri and Grandmasger Gregorio Caraffa.
With a rectangular shape, the church has five arches holding the ceiling. The altar is made of stone and the titular painting depicts the patron Saint Saint Blaise. The original painting of Giuseppe d’Arena is in the Cathedral museum, Mdina.
